Strong winds and high temperatures are generating dangerous fire conditions in several states today as crews in South Australia work to keep a major grass fire at bay.
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) is still working on the Blackford blaze which is now contained, however a current active Bushfire Advice message was issued last night.
The fire has impacted the communities of Avenue Range, Blackford and Lucindale with several structures confirmed lost or substantially damaged.

Another day of high temperatures and gusty winds is generating severe fire danger warnings for areas of South Australia, as well as in WA and the ACT.
Troughs are generating showers and storms in the northern tropics, leading to flooding in north Queensland.
Other troughs are triggering patchy rain and storms over inland WA, western SA, Tasmania and inland NSW while maintaining heat over the interior.
